NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2006 - NOTICEBOARD HANUKKAH PARTY The Norwich Hebrew Congregation invites you to come along to its Hanukkah Party. Latkes, pizzas, doughnuts, hot and cold drinks, and plenty of healthy food too! At the Norwich Synagogue, Sunday, 17th December at 4.30 pm. £5.00 per person, children free. Children of the congregation together with children of the PJCEA will be preenting their Hanukkah play for everyone to enjoy BUFFET SUPPER The Norwich Israel & Social Society and Norwich Jewish Ladies Society invite you to a Buffet Supper. Speaker: Elkan Levy, Director for Small Communities. On Saturday, January 20th 2006 at 7.30 pm. Elkan's topic is "They got off the boat too soon - the great immigration from eastern Europe." Tickets £7.50 each and £5.00 students. Numbers are needed please by January 14th.Tickets from Alex Bennett alex@bennett1962.fsnet.co.uk MARTIN BLOCH AT THE SAINSBURY CENTRE Martin Bloch: A Painter's Painter. January 30th, 2007 - April 15th, 2007. This is a celebration of the work of German émigré artist Martin Bloch. The exhibition brings together a collection of works to reveal a painter whose images demonstrate a pure love of paint and intimate understanding of pigment and colour CAMBRIDGE DAY LIMMUD - Sunday 18th March. The Cambridge Day Limmud will take place on Sunday, March 18th, 2007, just after the end of the Cambridge Lent term. The organisers have pulled out all the stops to provide a schedule that promises plenty for everyone and a fantastic day out. Crèche (book in advance) BOOK CLUB A meeting of the book club will take place on Tuesday, January 9th. The book: The Yellow Wind by David Grossman. The Jewish Book Club is open to members and friends of both the PJCEA and the NHC, as well as to Jews who are members of neither congregation. The group meets every six weeks or thereabouts, in members homes.
