MP to Launch New Liberal Judaism Publication 2nd December
2nd December, 3pm at the Montagu Centre: Liberal Judaism is launching a new publication by Rabbi Elli Tikvah Sarah of Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue, called 'Compelling Commitments'. Liberal Judaism is honoured that Gillian Merron, MP for Lincoln and Liberal Judaism patron, will be chairing the launch. Liberal Judaism in Britain emerged at the dawn of the twentieth century and has been on the move ever since. 'Compelling Commitments' presents a new approach to Liberal Judaism as a way of life, with a view to galvanising individuals - both those who are already involved in Liberal Judaism, and those who are not - into choosing to become committed Liberal Jews in the twenty-first century. Classes are usually 2 hours long and run for 10 weeks. The teacher’s fee of £30 an hour would be shared equally between participants (i.e. a 2-hour class for 10 people would cost £6 per participant).
