FEBRUARY 2008
LIBERAL JUDAISMS BIENNIAL WEEKEND 4-6 APRIL 2008 Creation and Creativity If you have not yet registered for this years Biennial weekend, this is your last chance. Dont miss out on the exciting programme planned for our national meeting! Our featured speakers include writer, film maker and award winning television producer Alan Ereira and Dr. Mark Levene, author of Surviving Climate Change: The struggle to avert global catastrophe. We are also lucky to have Judith Silver as our musician in residence. The weekend will offer you a chance to select from our programme of 32 interesting and varied workshop sessions offered by our Rabbis, student Rabbis and lay members from a number of our communities, as well as by our main presenters and other special guests. You will find something here to intrigue, enlighten or amuse you whatever your interests. For example, you could grapple with Gematria, explore the use of cyberspace as a tool for building community, use your own creativity, consider important issues of our day such as euthanasia, the true costs of food production, and the Dawkins effect, examine medicine as a bridge to peace or study a biblical text together. We will also be taking the opportunity for an early celebration of Israel at 60. Our Shabbat services offer a chance to come together as a community of Liberal Jews in worship. On Sunday you will be able to choose your preferred worship experience from the options available. And dont forget the Community Marketplace where you can shop for the books, Judaica or gifts to take the experience home with you! There will also be free time to visit with old friends, make new ones and enjoy the facilities of the Tortworth Court Hotel near Bristol. Visit our website for the latest details of the weekend and to download your booking form today. You will find us at www.liberaljudaism.org/biennial. |
