NEWSLETTER MAY 2008

The Communal Seder held on Sunday, April 20th (second seder night). It was our first at Jessopp Road; organized by Michele Paton and led by Philip Lawrence.  With 51 adults and 15 children, it was probably our most successful Communal Seder ever.

Especial thanks are due not only to Michele and Philip, but to all those who gave of their time and energies to ensure such a successful outcome.

Passover Tzedakah Appeal

Money was raised for the following three beneficiaries:

1 The Smile Train - 100% of donations goes towards programs that help children, 0% goes to overhead. The free cleft surgery donations will help provide, is a true, modern-day medical miracle: it costs as little as $250 and takes as little as 45 minutes. That’s all it takes to give a desperate child not just a new smile, but a new life. (www.smiletrain.org)
2 Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia - Hamlin Fistula UK supports the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - a hospital caring for women with horrendous injuries sustained in childbirth. (www.hamlinfistulauk.org)
3 New Roots - PJC's local charity helping local asylum seekers.

Further information from Michele Paton email michele.paton@gmail.com to whom donations may be sent. Unless requested otherwise, any monies received will be apportioned equally between the three beneficiaries.
