MAY 2008 END-OF-MONTH SHABBAT SERVICE
SATURDAY, MAY 31ST AT 11.15 AM AT JESSOPP ROAD
COMMUNITY HALL, NORWICH TO BE FOLLOWED BY A BRING-A-DISH HAVURAH LUNCH The Shabbat service to be held on Saturday, May 31st is to be taken by Rabbi Rachel Benjamin. With special guest LJ schlicha Noa Marom. After the service, there will be a Havurah lunch, hence the reason for meeting this month at Jessopp Road. Please bring a dish, a savoury or sweet – or both! Yahrzeits in May
Yahrzeits we know about are read out at the service. It is also fitting to perform a mitzvah eg candle lighting or ark opening at that time. Mitzvot are arranged by Deborah Carpenter, but don’t wait for her to contact you. Email deborah.lang@btopenworld.com — or just come along to the service Michele Paton maintains the Yahrzeit List. If you would like a family member or friend mentioned in shul on the anniversary of their passing, give Michele the necessasry details ie name, relationship, anniversary date, in writing. New routes is a link organisation connecting asylum seekers and refugees with local business and community groups Please bring something for New Routes. Unfortunately, gifts in kind are not suitable. Place cash or a cheque payable to the PJCEA in an envelope marked "New Routes" and hand it to any member of the Council at the service. |
