WEBSITE SPONSORSHIP

The Sponsors

More and more of us these days have access to the Internet and the World Wide Web. The PJCEA has been quick to grasp the opportunities they offer, both for improved communication and the dissemination of information. Most PJCEA Council officers now have access to email, and the PJCEA receives many enquiries via its website. I continue to receive much positive feedback - www.pjcea.org.uk is good PR.

Typically, the newsletter is published on the website long before it appears on the doorstep and I look forward to a time when it will no longer be necessary to produce and distribute a paper copy. I’m sure Stella Koenick, who does all the photocopying, collating, stapling, address labelling, stamping and mailing, will agree!

Twelve months ago I suggested that individuals might like to sponsor the then nascent PJCEA website. Those who gave, unless having expressed a wish to the contrary, were written to a "book of names". You can see this at www.pjcea.org.uk/sponsors/sponsors.htm. I am now calling for donations for the two-year period 2003-04.

Having our own website is relatively inexpensive, not least because I am happy to give freely of my time and expertise. There are, however, some associated costs viz domain name registration and web space. A fully detailed report was submitted to Council in May 2000.

I met these costs initially, so as to get the site going, but I will not be able to do so indefinitely. Any excess monies go to community funds. I will make up any shortfall. Amounts can be as little or as much as you want. Every little bit helps. Cheques should be made payable to the PJCEA and addressed to me, Byron Simmonds at 3 School Cottages, Walnut Hill, Surlingham Norwich NR14 7DQ. All donations received will be personally acknowledged.
